What are the museum’s hours of operation?
The Atomic Museum is open seven days a week, making it easy to plan your visit to one of Las Vegas’s most unique museums.
Regular Hours:
Monday-Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Box Office closes at 4:15 PM. Last admission is at 4:15 PM.)
Does the Atomic Museum offer free parking?
Yes, the Atomic Museum offers free on-site parking.
When is the museum closed?
The museum is closed on New Years Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.
The museum also observes adjusted hours on New Years Eve.
Regular museum hours resume following each holiday closure. We recommend checking our hours before your visit.
Are tours of the Nevada National Security Site available?
Public tours of the Nevada National Security Site have been canceled through 2026. For the latest information on site tours, visit Nevada National Security Site Tours.
How much does it cost to visit the Atomic Museum?

Is the Atomic Museum cashless?
Yes, the Atomic Museum is a cashless facility. We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as mobile payment options for museum admission, gift shop purchases, and other on-site transactions. Please plan accordingly, as cash is not accepted.
Do I need a reservation to visit the Atomic Museum?
Reservations are encouraged to help you plan your visit, but they are not required. Walk-in visitors are always welcome, and you can purchase admission upon arrival during the Atomic Museum’s regular operating hours, subject to availability.
What field trip programs does the Atomic Museum offer?
The Atomic Museum offers two educational field trip experiences. Atomic Explorers is a self-led museum visit available for groups of all ages, featuring engaging exhibits that explore America’s nuclear history and support STEAM and history education. For students in grades 6–12, Exploring the Invisible: A Hands-On Journey into Radiation Science is a 2.5-hour interactive program presented in partnership with the Desert Research Institute, combining a guided museum experience with a hands-on radiation science experiment. This program is offered at no cost and includes transportation support.
When are field trips available?
Atomic Explorers field trips are available Monday through Friday and begin at 9:30 AM. Educators should plan to spend at least 90 minutes exploring the museum. If your group requires an alternate start time, please contact the Atomic Museum education team.
How many students can attend a field trip?
Atomic Explorers can accommodate up to 70 students per day. If your group includes more than 70 students, please contact education@atomicmuseum.vegas to discuss available options.
What educational resources are available for teachers?
Atomic Museum field trips can be paired with classroom curriculum and educational resources focused on STEAM and history. These resources help extend learning before and after your visit, creating a meaningful educational experience for students of all ages.
How do I book a field trip to the Atomic Museum?
Advance registration is required for all Atomic Museum field trips. To request your visit, simply complete our online Field Trip Request Form. Once your request is submitted, a member of the Atomic Museum education team will contact you from education@atomicmuseum.vegas to confirm your reservation, provide an estimated cost, and finalize your visit details. If you have questions before submitting your request, please contact the education team at education@atomicmuseum.vegas.

Atomic Museum members enjoy unlimited admission, guest passes, museum store discounts, invitations to exclusive member events, and reciprocal admission benefits at participating museums. Does my Atomic Museum membership include reciprocal museum admission?
Yes. Eligible Atomic Museum memberships include reciprocal admission benefits at hundreds of participating museums through the North American Reciprocal Museum (NARM) network and select Smithsonian Affiliate institutions. Please review your membership level for complete details.
